This remains the case, whether they are established international stars with experience across both hemispheres or talented local area players who are the heartbeat of the Club and inspire future generations.

“The player recruitment market has undoubtedly got harder. There is more competition for players at the Academy level, and the expansion of top-tier teams in both Super League and the NRL means that competition is fierce. It’s a challenge that we relish, and the Club is committed to ensuring that St.Helens remains an elite destination.”

Whilst potentially not a household name, St Helens have been linked with a big signing in terms of physicality with Love Rugby League reporting that the club are working on an immediate move to secure Canterbury Bulldogs forward Daniel Suluka-Fifita.

That would help bolster them given Matty Lees’ season-ending injury among other absentees in the pack.

𝐀𝐬𝐤 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 😇

A new fan-led Q&A series giving insight into club decisions and direction.

Check out the first edition on our website now 👇#COYS

— St.Helens R.F.C.
