Arsenal take on Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon in what is their first game as Premier League champions. The match has little on the line for the home side, Palace are only able to finish as high as 14 th and as low as 16 th, with a UEFA Conference League final in just a few days’ time.

It will therefore be a chance to see plenty of rotation and even some potential Premier League debuts. An opportunity to give players who have been patient for their chance to get into the spotlight.

In addition, with a Champions League final on the horizon, Mikel Arteta could use this game as an opportunity to try some new things and help others practice their unorthodox roles, forced by injury. But naturally, this makes predicting the Arsenal eleven the most challenging it has been all season.

FOLLOW OUR ARSENAL FB PAGE ! Latest Gunners news, analysis and much more via our dedicated Facebook page

football.london has given their view on who could start for Arsenal:

Tommy Setford

The young keeper was training ahead of the match this weekend, and with David Raya working inside, the selection will be between him and Kepa Arrizabalaga. But with the game having nothing on the line, instinct points toward Setford getting a chance to play.

Marli Salmon

The young defender could form part of a back three similar to what was seen at Mansfield. However, it will just depend on where Arteta uses Mosquera.

Cristhian Mosquera

The Spaniard is the likeliest candidate to play right back in the final, with both Ben White and Jurrien Timber out injured currently. Having him familiarise himself more with the role could be key, but in this setup, it’s less likely.

Piero Hincapie

Playing left sides centre-half of a back three, a role that suits the Ecuador international.

Christian Norgaard

Against Mansfield Town, the Dane occupied this hybrid centre-half, defensive midfield role which might be replicated here.

Martin Zubimendi

The Spaniard has lost his place to Myles Lewis-Skelly lately, and therefore it is easier to see him start in this game.

Mikel Merino

Returning from injury to get some valuable minutes before the final, even if a start, remains very unlikely.

Max Dowman

A great opportunity for the young star to get another Premier League appearance under his belt and show the world his talents.

Noni Madueke

After earning a call-up to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad, there is plenty of reason for positivity from the winger.

Gabriel Jesus

This could potentially be the last game league that Gabriel Jesus plays for the Gunners with rumours circulating of a summer exit.

Gabriel Martinelli

Another one who could potentially see their Premier League journey end with Arsenal at this point.

Find the best flight and Budapest hotel deals with Booking.com

This article contains affiliate links, we will receive a commission on any sales we generate from it.
