{"id":603062,"date":"2026-05-25T14:01:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T14:01:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/603062\/"},"modified":"2026-05-25T14:01:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T14:01:13","slug":"wakefield-trinity-handed-major-blow-as-roger-tuivasa-sheck-suffers-long-term-injury-ahead-of-2027-arrival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/603062\/","title":{"rendered":"Wakefield Trinity handed major blow as Roger Tuivasa-Sheck suffers long-term injury ahead of 2027 arrival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/NZ-Warriors-7051.jpg\" class=\"attachment- size- wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Incoming Wakefield Trinity man Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is said to have likely played his final NRL game after going off injured over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The Kiwi dual-code international returned for the New Zealand Warriors after three weeks on the sidelines in Saturday\u2019s win over St George Illawarra Dragons.<\/p>\n<p>However, he only lasted around 11 minutes into his comeback game before being helped off the field by the physios.<\/p>\n<p>Post-match, head coach Andrew Webster couldn\u2019t confirm the full extent of what \u2018RTS\u2019 had done, but there was an inkling at that point it was something serious.<\/p>\n<p>The Warriors are yet to confirm what the issue is, but the early signs are that Tuivasa-Sheck has suffered an ACL injury, and to make matters worse, it is the same knee he had reconstructed back in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The outside back would face surgery and a nine-month recovery time, taking him to February of 2027.
