He can\u2019t afford to slip up, because obviously, AJ\u2019s got his fight in a few weeks\u2019 time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Joshua\u2019s] got to come through that, Tyson has to come through his, and then the big one will be in November.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fury is coming off his April victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Warren had already said the former WBC heavyweight champion would take another fight before moving ahead with Anthony Joshua later this year.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement now appears close, with Warren pointing to a serious enough opponent to sharpen Fury without derailing the November plan.<\/p>\n<p>Warren also used the interview to reveal that heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma is close to landing the biggest fight of his career against a top-10 contender.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMoses [Itauma] is fighting up in Manchester, we\u2019re going to announce it,\u201d said Warren.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s fighting a top 10 heavyweight; we expect to get the fight we want to make over the line. Again, a great heavyweight fight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis division is on fire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Itauma has been moved aggressively over the last year and already holds the #1 spot with the WBO. Warren\u2019s comments suggest Queensberry is preparing to push the 21-year-old toward title level sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n<p>The bigger focus, though, remains Fury and Joshua. Both heavyweights still need to win their next fights before the long-awaited showdown can finally move forward in November.<\/p>\n<p>Fury\u2019s opponent is expected to be recognizable, but unlikely to be the type of pressure fighter capable of putting the Joshua fight at risk.<\/p>\n<p>Olly Campbell is a boxing journalist who has covered the sport since 2014, providing ringside reporting and technical analysis of major bouts.
