UK dev Media Molecule\u2019s next game is expected to be more of a traditional adventure<\/a>, as opposed to a creation engine like the innovative but ultimately ill-fated Dreams<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We have absolutely no idea what the first-party team\u2019s working on, however, so this is an interesting nugget dug up by MP1st<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s spotted some wording on Senior Environment Designer Raphael Kidd\u2019s online resume<\/a> which implies the studio\u2019s next game may have open world elements.<\/p>\n

In his CV, he mentions that he\u2019s the \u201cmain contact\/vision holder for various open world content\u201d. He also says he\u2019s responsible for \u201cblocking out main points of interest\u201d.<\/p>\n

He mentions the game is an unannounced project and a new IP, so it sounds like this will be something completely new from the studio.<\/p>\n

Dreams<\/a> released in 2020 but ceased live service support<\/a> in 2023.<\/p>\n

A round of layoffs followed, but it\u2019s safe to assume it should be quite deep into development on its next game by now. In fact, I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if it revealed it imminently \u2013 it just depends how many projects Sony wants out in the open at this point.<\/p>\n

If its next game is open world, I\u2019d expect it to be quite different to your typical sandbox affair. Media Molecule\u2019s always made cutesy, lighthearted adventures so I\u2019d expect something a bit more family friendly, hopefully to complement Astro Bot<\/a> in Sony\u2019s catalogue.<\/p>\n
