Smoke could be spotted from as far away as Fife on Monday evening after the blaze erupted on Arthur&#8217;s Seat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Images of the fire show orange flames consuming the gorse on the side of the iconic landmark in the capital as onlookers stop their hike to take in the destruction. There\u2019s a lot of smoke rising from the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cI hope it\u2019s not as bad as the fire from last year and that everyone is safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: &#8220;We are currently in attendance at an incident on Arthur&#8217;s Seat in Edinburgh.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;Operations Control has mobilised three appliances to the scene. People are being asked to avoid the area as crews work to extinguish a large grass fire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;There is no further need to alert our Operations Control to this incident as we have already received a large volume of calls.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">We&#8217;ll bring you more information and updates on this breaking news story as we get it.
