Taylor Swift<\/a> walked away empty-handed at the American Music Awards<\/a> after entering the night as the show’s leading nominee with eight nods.<\/p>\n

Swift, who did not attend the ceremony at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, was shut out of the major categories announced May 25 on CBS and Paramount+ despite entering the show as the most-awarded artist in AMAs history with 40 career wins.<\/p>\n

The singer-songwriter was nominated for artist of the year, album of the year for “The Life of a Showgirl”<\/a> and song of the year for “The Fate of Ophelia,” among other categories.<\/p>\n

Instead, artist of the year went to BTS, while song of the year was awarded to EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami for “Golden” as The Singing Voices of HUNTR\/X.<\/p>\n

Swift also lost song of the summer for “Elizabeth Taylor,”<\/a> with BTS winning the category for “SWIM.”<\/p>\n

The pop superstar skipped the fan-voted awards show hosted by Queen Latifah<\/a>. In recent weeks, Swift has spent more New York City date nights in the spotlight and traveled with fianc\u00e9 Travis Kelce<\/a> to Cleveland for an NBA playoff game between the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers.<\/p>\n
