Craig McLeish has told St Mirren he wants to become permanent manager after leading the club to Premiership survival.<\/p>\n
The interim boss took over after Stephen Robinson’s sudden exit to Aberdeen and guided the club to safety after a nerve-shredding play-off win over Partick Thistle.<\/p>\n
He told Sky Sports: “I don’t know, I don’t think about it too much. Do I want the job? Absolutely. I think everyone knows that by now.<\/p>\n
“But look. Whatever the club decide to do I’m fine with. I can’t control those things, I can’t worry about them. I stepped in at a difficult moment for the club.<\/p>\n
“I did everything I could to make sure we stayed in the league. We’ve achieved that. That was the remit when I got the role.<\/p>\n
“It would have been nicer to avoid this type of play-off. But I’ve loved every minute of it.<\/p>\n
“The players have been brilliant with me throughout the full thing.
