A murder investigation has been launched after a 34-year-old man has died at a Welsh beach on Bank Holiday Monday.<\/p>\n
Emergency services responded to reports of a man in the water at Barmouth Beach in north Wales shortly after 3pm on May 25, and despite the best efforts of those at the scene the men was later pronounced dead. A 24-year-old man from the Birmingham area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody, with enquiries into the incident ongoing.<\/p>\n
The man\u2019s family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers. Read the biggest stories in Wales first by signing up to our daily newsletter<\/a> here.<\/p>\n Police are now asking anyone who was at the beach on Monday afternoon who may have witnessed the incident to make contact with them as soon as possible.<\/p>\n Detective Superintendent Chris Bell of North Wales Police said: \u201cAn investigation into the man\u2019s death has been launched and I am urging anybody who was at Barmouth beach and witnessed the incident to contact police.<\/p>\n \u201cI am also appealing to everybody who was on the beach between 2pm and 4pm who took any photos and videos to send them to us as soon as possible.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are interested in all photos or videos taken on any part of the beach during the afternoon.
