ecGikU\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Avocados, limes, green tea and olive oil are among the food products set to get cheaper under proposed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/government\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Government<\/a> tariff cuts. <\/p>\n<p>Chancellor Rachel Reeves hopes to bring down the cost of \u201ceveryday essentials\u201d as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/news\/uk\/energy-price-cap-july-ofgem-iraq-war-trump-b1283739.html\" title=\"Energy bills to soar 13% due to Trump&#039;s war in Iran, says Ofgem\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">conflict in the Middle East <\/a>continues to push up prices. <\/p>\n<p>The tariff cuts will be consulted on by the Treasury, with the survey opening on Wednesday and running until June 24.<\/p>\n<p>The Government is also investigating whether suspending <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/tariffs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">tariffs<\/a> on some fertilisers could help <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/farmers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">farmers<\/a> with rising prices caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. <\/p>\n<p>It comes after the Chancellor introduced a raft of measures to help struggling families this summer. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
