A Scottish golfer says he is stunned after defying odds of 67 million to one to record two holes in one in the same round.<\/p>\n

Douglas Spencer, originally from Edinburgh and now living in the Highlands, achieved the remarkable feat at the Boat of Garten course on Saturday in the Roddy MacLeod Trophy.<\/p>\n

The 60-year-old\u2019s first hole in one came at the par three ninth and he repeated the trick at the 16th.<\/p>\n

Douglas told STV News: \u201cI had not had a hole in one in my 45 years of golf \u2013 I\u2019d never even come close!<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, it was a bit of a shock to me on the first one. It was 150 yards or so, I hit a 7-iron and one bounce and in it went.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was delighted with that and would have walked off the course quite happy, then later, on the 16th I did it again!\u201d<\/p>\n

Douglas said he had a poor start going out in 42, but his double hole in one saw him shoot 78 \u2013 coming back in level par for the back nine.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThere was a group of guys on the 17th just about to tee off and my ball landed about 15 yards short of the pin and it just carried on rolling and rolling. At one point it looked like it was going to stop, but it just toppled in!<\/p>\n

\u201cThey went absolutely mad. I was completely in shock.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy wife was absolutely shocked when I told her because she knows how poor I am at golf!<\/p>\n

\u201cDid I put on a lottery ticket? I did and got nowhere!\u201d<\/p>\n

His handicap has since been cut from 11 to nine. He revealed the club gave him two hole in one flags to mark the achievement.<\/p>\n

Douglas is talk of the clubhouse at the Boat of Garten course, but now he has his eyes set on another milestone.<\/p>\n

The 60-year-old will be joining his friend Iain Gardner to raise funds for Prostate Scotland on June 19 after being inspired by six-time Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re planning to play 100 holes at North Berwick West links in a day \u2013 walking around 35 miles.<\/p>\n

Douglas added: \u201cIt\u2019ll definitely top it if I manage to walk the 100 holes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are starting about half four in the morning, we play seven holes then cut across to the 12th and do that again before anybody else is out on the course.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll play four full rounds hopefully finishing before darkness.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe two of us are old, failed rugby players with bad hips and bad knees. We will do well to get round!\u201d<\/p>\n

Douglas and Iain have raised more \u00a312,000 from their JustGiving page<\/a> and a further \u00a36,500 in auction pledges.<\/p>\n
