\n Tip Toe is described as a \u201cpowerfully resonant\u201d new original drama from the multi award-winning screenwriter and television producer Russell T Davies.\n<\/p>\n

\n Russell\u2019s most recent Channel 4 drama was the extraordinary and critically acclaimed It\u2019s A Sin, which examined the devastating human story behind the 1980s AIDS crisis.\n<\/p>\n

\n Tip Toe will explore the \u201cmost corrosive forces facing the LGBTQ+ community today\u201d, analysing \u201cthe danger as prejudice creeps back into our lives\u201d.\n<\/p>\n

\n Starring in the show is Gabriel Clark, a British-Sardinian actor, writer and director from Bolton<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

\n He is known for playing Ollie Morgan on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, and co-wrote and directed the OFFIE award-winning The Other Side in October 2022.\n<\/p>\n

\n He grew up in Harwood and says his first memory of the theatre is of coming to see James and the Giant Peach at the Octagon and being \u201ctotally transfixed\u201d.\n<\/p>\n

\n With an opera-singing mother and a guitarist father, it was almost inevitable that Gabriel would flourish artistically.\n<\/p>\n

\n Early in his life, he attended the Octagon\u2019s young company, Avtiv8, before becoming an usher for about five years and \u201cjust wishing\u201d it could be him on stage.\n<\/p>\n

\n In 2023, Gabriel returned to Bolton<\/a> and starred in the Octagon Theatre’s celebrated revival of Bill Naughton’s Spring and Port Wine.\n<\/p>\n

\n Fast forward to 2026, and he\u2019s now swapped the stage for the screen again, playing Mikey in Tip Toe.\n<\/p>\n

\n Twenty-five years later, the team behind the ground-breaking Queer as Folk are returning to Manchester and Canal Street.\n<\/p>\n

\n The five-part series will follow characters Leo and Clive, who live next door to each other in Manchester.\n<\/p>\n

\n Leo runs a bar on Canal Street and Clive is an electrician with two teenage sons. But just as life should be settling down, the world around them is growing more tense.\n<\/p>\n

\n Gradually, the two neighbours become deadly enemies in the tense suburban thriller which \u201cchallenges everything we consider to be safe\u201d.\n<\/p>\n

\n The series, populated with a cast of vibrant characters and underscored with Russell\u2019s trademark \u201cwit and deft humour\u201d, is an urgent yet gripping tale.\n<\/p>\n

\n Writer and creator Russell T Davies<\/a> said: \u201cIt\u2019s my honour to combine my old home, Channel 4, with my second home, Canal Street.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cThis is a show I had to write because the world is getting stranger, tougher and darker, and frankly, the fight is on.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n The five-part drama stars Alan Cumming and David Morrissey as Leo, the witty owner of a bar in Manchester\u2019s Gay Village, and Clive, his troubled next-door neighbour.\n<\/p>\n
