{"id":608461,"date":"2026-05-28T12:38:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T12:38:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/608461\/"},"modified":"2026-05-28T12:38:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T12:38:09","slug":"murder-accused-in-court-over-lichfield-bar-punch-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/608461\/","title":{"rendered":"Murder-accused in court over Lichfield &#8216;bar punch&#8217; death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A man has appeared in court accused of murder over the death of a man who was reportedly punched at a bar.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Billy Allison, 36, from Solihull, attended a hearing at Stafford Crown Court on Thursday, following his appearance at North Staffordshire Justice Centre the previous day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It came after police were called to reports of two men being punched at the Ricco and Loren bar on Market Street, Lichfield, at 23:25 BST on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Police said one of the men, Matthew O&#8217;Gara, died in hospital on Tuesday afternoon, while the second, who also attended hospital, was discharged.
