Things are looking up for Emmerdale’s Kammy Hadiq as he becomes an honorary member of the Dingle family.<\/p>\n

Following the surprise revelation that Kammy is homeless<\/a>, the Dingles are stepping in to give him a place to stay at Wishing Well Cottage.<\/p>\n

The happy outcome airs in Thursday’s episode as Belle and Aaron discover that they were wrong to suspect Kammy of being the mystery farm arsonist<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kammy’s best mate Vinny Dingle tips them off with the truth, explaining that the kind-hearted mechanic deserves their support rather than condemnation.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, Belle insists that Kammy can stay on the sofa at Wishing Well \u2013 and even hard-to-please Cain is on board as he promises that Lydia will take great care of him.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the change in dynamics, Shebz Miah \u2013 who plays Kammy \u2013 laughed: “It’s so mad! I remember after I first joined, everyone was like: ‘Kammy is like a classic Dingle’. I didn’t even know what that meant but now I see it! He’s someone who does mean well, but he’s getting up to mischief.<\/p>\n

“The beauty is that, for myself growing up, I never, ever imagined a brown kid like me would be part of the Dingles, you know? So I think to be in that chaotic mix is iconic. I think it’s going to be amazing for the fans to see.”<\/p>\n

Revealing how life has changed for him on set, Shebz continued: “A lot of the scenes I’ve got now are obviously involved with the Dingles. It’s just simple scenes where we’re all having breakfast and whatnot \u2013 and Kammy is there just having a fry-up.<\/p>\n

“The most amazing part is that, when I was a kid watching the classic Emmerdale scenes, I always wanted to be a part of that. It’s a beautiful feeling to be part of. And if I had to choose a family on Emmerdale to be part of, it would 100% be the Dingles!”<\/p>\n

Emmerdale bosses chose Kammy as the character to explore

Producer Sophie Roper recently explained: “This storyline is a vital look at ‘hidden homelessness,’ showing that people can be living on the edge of society, sleeping in their vehicle or barns, while still successfully holding down a job and maintaining relationships.<\/p>\n

“For many reasons, a person’s circumstances can change dramatically and we wanted to challenge the perception of what homelessness looks like and prove that what people present to the outside world isn’t necessarily the whole story.<\/p>\n

“We hope this narrative encourages our viewers to look closer and remember that things are not always quite as they seem.”<\/p>\n

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
