Romero dropped Garcia and controlled the action over 12 rounds to capture the WBA \u201cregular\u201d welterweight title before later being elevated to full champion after Jaron \u201cBoots\u201d Ennis vacated the belt.<\/p>\n<p>Romero unloaded on Haney while discussing the failed negotiations during an interview today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want anything to do with Devin Haney ever again. He wasted my time. He said we sent him a great, lucrative offer and all that stuff after calling me out and saying I\u2019m ducking,\u201d said Rolly to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secondsout.com\/news\/rolly-romero-rules-out-unification\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Seconds Out<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just didn\u2019t want to deal with them originally because, like I said, they are clowns and I knew that they were gonna do this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Romero also insisted his side made the first serious move to make the fight happen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was like, \u2018Oh yeah, all right, I\u2019m ducking Devin. I don\u2019t care,\u2019\u201d said Rolly. \u201cBut the second I put the pressure, boom, who sent the contract? Who sent the deal? Who sent the offer? We were going to do it on Prime. Who sent everything? Me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can play the big tough guy until you realize you ain\u2019t the big tough guy no more, right? But Devin Haney knows he\u2019s the most hyped-up boxer of this whole entire era.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Haney has not publicly responded to Romero\u2019s latest comments.
