\n The White House released the results of President Donald Trump\u2019s May physical late Friday evening, sharing a memo<\/a> from his physician recommending he lose weight and exercise more while noting he is in excellent health.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cPresident Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function,\u201d White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella wrote in a letter. \u201cCognitive and physical performance are excellent. He is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Barbabella wrote, \u201cPreventive counseling was provided,\u201d during the exam, \u201cincluding guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n The doctor noted the president stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 238 pounds.\n <\/p>\n

\n At his physical exam last April, Trump weighed 224 pounds.\n <\/p>\n

\n His visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Tuesday marked the third time he\u2019s visited<\/a> the facility for a medical exam since becoming the oldest president ever inaugurated last year.\n <\/p>\n

\n Prior to the visit, the White House said the check-up would include \u201croutine annual dental and medical assessments,\u201d despite him having already visited a dentist in Florida twice this year.\n <\/p>\n

\n Immediately following the visit, Trump offered scant details on Truth Social, writing \u201cEverything checked out PERFECTLY.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Since returning to the White House in 2025, visible ailments and speculation over his health have prompted the White House to divulge new details of the president\u2019s physical condition.\n <\/p>\n

\n The White House said swelling in his legs and ankles that was revealed last summer\u200b was a result of chronic venous insufficiency<\/a>, a condition in which valves inside certain veins don\u2019t work the way they should, which can allow blood to pool or collect in the veins. Trump attempted wearing compression socks, but found them uncomfortable.\n <\/p>\n

\n In Friday\u2019s letter, the president\u2019s doctor wrote that, during Tuesday\u2019s physical, \u201cSlight lower leg swelling was noted, with improvement from last year.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n The president has also developed noticeable bruising on his hands during his second term, which the White House has chalked up to frequent handshakes and attempted to cover up with concealer in photographs.\n <\/p>\n

\n According to the doctor\u2019s readout, Trump also submitted to a \u201ccomprehensive neurological exam,\u201d which showed \u201cnormal mental status, intact cranial nerves, normal motor strength, sensation, reflexes, gait, and balance.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n As for Trump\u2019s heart health, the doctor said, \u201cAl-enhanced electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis estimated his cardiac age\u2026to be approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Barbabella\u2019s letter noted that Trump currently takes aspirin but didn\u2019t give a dosage. When it\u2019s used for preventive purposes, doctors generally advise taking 81 milligrams of aspirin per day, but Trump told the Wall Street Journal in January that he takes 325 milligrams, a dose that can raise the risk of bleeding.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cThey say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don\u2019t want thick blood pouring through my heart,\u201d Trump told the WSJ. \u201cI want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart. \u2026 They\u2019d rather have me take the smaller one. I take the larger one, but I\u2019ve done it for years, and what it does do is, it causes bruising.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Trump again took the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a 10-minute screening test used to detect mild cognitive impairment and early dementia. The doctor said the president scored 30 out of 30.\n <\/p>\n
