{"id":612310,"date":"2026-05-30T16:22:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-30T16:22:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/612310\/"},"modified":"2026-05-30T16:22:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-30T16:22:08","slug":"project-to-bring-wildlife-closer-to-people-in-salisbury","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/612310\/","title":{"rendered":"Project to bring wildlife closer to people in Salisbury"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A programme bringing wildlife closer to people living in the city has received National Lottery funding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Wildlife and Wellbeing, based in Salisbury, has secured \u00a35,000 in funding to offer events in green spaces close to the city centre in 2026 and 2027 to improve people&#8217;s wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The events will include bat nights, fungi and birdsong events and a summer solstice celebration, in the hopes of highlighting Salisbury&#8217;s rich natural environment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Polly Whyte, the project lead, said: &#8220;There are lovely green spaces in Salisbury and river walks as well where people can go out and connect with nature, which is really good for our wellbeing.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A programme bringing wildlife closer to people living in the city has received National Lottery funding.
