{"id":612423,"date":"2026-05-30T17:58:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-30T17:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/612423\/"},"modified":"2026-05-30T17:58:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-30T17:58:08","slug":"lincolnshire-county-council-says-ai-behind-rise-in-foi-requests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/612423\/","title":{"rendered":"Lincolnshire County Council says AI behind rise in FOI requests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Hancy said people were using AI a lot more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;You can tell by the way complaints or requests are worded that they have used AI technology to be able to ask for that information,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/lnp\/ldrs\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Local Democracy Reporting Service<\/a>, at a scrutiny meeting on Thursday, councillors were told 83% of its responses were issued within the 20 working days timeframe, below its target of 85%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Independent councillor Phil Dilks said FOIs had grown into a &#8220;massive issue&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;A few years ago, we&#8217;d just get a few a year \u2013 we&#8217;re up to, I make it, 40 a week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;That is a huge change and a huge demand on the organisation.
