{"id":615162,"date":"2026-06-01T11:59:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T11:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/615162\/"},"modified":"2026-06-01T11:59:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T11:59:09","slug":"bennetts-associates-plunges-to-1-3m-loss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/615162\/","title":{"rendered":"Bennetts Associates plunges to \u00a31.3m loss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The practice, which has offices in London, Manchester and Edinburgh, said <a href=\"https:\/\/find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk\/company\/02710265\/filing-history\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the figures<\/a> for the year ending 31 May 2025 reflected a \u2018challenging trading environment\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>According to documents filed at <a href=\"https:\/\/find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk\/company\/02710265\/filing-history\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Companies House<\/a>, turnover fell 38.9 per cent from \u00a38.87 million in 2024 to \u00a35.42 million.<\/p>\n<p>It also made a \u00a31.38 million loss compared with a \u00a3720,392 profit before tax the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>Profit margins over the trading period plummeted too, dropping from 41.2 per cent in 2024 to 18.8 per cent in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s directors said it had dipped into its cash reserves to help the business through a \u2018period of intermittent workload\u2019 and to maintain the \u2018capability needed to deliver\u2019 its expected future pipeline of work.<\/p>\n<p>Even so, the average staff numbers at the employee-owned, B-Corp, which says its \u2018guiding vision is for resource-conscious architecture that is elegant in its simplicity and created with generosity\u2019, also dropped over the 12-month period \u2013 from 83 to 74.<\/p>\n<p>The accounts reveal that Bennetts Associates\u2019 assets decreased in value from \u00a33.5 million to \u00a32.3 million. No dividends were paid out.<\/p>\n<p>A practice spokesperson said: \u2018These results reflect a challenging trading environment and the cyclical nature of our market.
