A man has been left fighting for his life following a stabbing in Gorton<\/a>. Officers were called out to Trust Road at around 3.50pm on Sunday afternoon (May 31).<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> says it received reports that a man had sustained several injuries following a suspected stabbing. It is believed that the suspects fled the scene on an electric bike.<\/p>\n

GMP says the victim, a 23-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital for treatment this morning (Monday).<\/p>\n

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident so far and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident – or any relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage – is urged to come forward.<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Mark Hodgson, from GMP\u2019s City of Manchester district, said: \u201cThis was a shocking incident which could have easily resulted in much more serious consequences \u2013 thanks to the prompt response of emergency service colleagues, the man was taken to hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that this was a targeted attack with no risk to the wider public, and our enquiries are continuing at pace to ensure those responsible are located and arrested. I would ask anyone with information to please get in touch with us as we continue with our work.\u201d<\/p>\n
