\n After running different mentoring groups, around five years ago Nasir became reacquainted with his friend Ashif Ashik from Bolton.\n<\/p>\n
\n Similarly to Nasir, Ashif had spent years doing community work across the borough.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cWe put our heads together and decided to do something proactive to help children in deprived areas,\u201d said Nasir.\n<\/p>\n
\n The goal was to \u201ccreate more structured pathways, increase engagement and bring communities together\u201d.\n<\/p>\n
\n As a result, Round4Round was born<\/a>, a boxing gym with a focus on personal growth and development as well as physical training.\n<\/p>\n \n \n Nasir said: \u201cAshif brought his local knowledge and I brought my business network to the table.\u201d\n<\/p>\n \n The pair decided to take their vision to former boxing world champion Amir Khan and Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham.\n<\/p>\n \n Amir welcomed Round4Round to base itself at his gym.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cThe first week we had five children and bore all the costs,\u201d Nasir explained.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cFour years later, we have 300 to 400 kids a week and we\u2019re national champions and regional champions.\u201d\n<\/p>\n \n Round4Round also helps to train Bolton Wanderers Academy<\/a>, Bolton College and Monton JFC.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cBoxing training is one of the best types of high-level, intense fitness training that is transferable across other sports,\u201d said Nasir.\n<\/p>\n \n The club has eight coaches, including legendary trainer Bob Shannon, who trained Ricky Hatton.\n<\/p>\n \n Many of the team coach around their day jobs, like Nasir, whose role is completely voluntary.\n<\/p>\n \n \n Round4Round\u2019s motto is \u201ctransforming lives through boxing\u201d, shown through the accolades they have achieved.\n<\/p>\n \n The organisation has even brought huge names such as Roy Jones Jr, the Australian Olympic Team, BOXXER, Matchroom Sport and Wasserman to Bolton.\n<\/p>\n\u201cWe want people to come along and feel safe\u201d (Image: Supplied)\n<\/p>\n
