{"id":617620,"date":"2026-06-02T20:14:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-02T20:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/617620\/"},"modified":"2026-06-02T20:14:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-02T20:14:09","slug":"northern-ireland-justin-devenny-not-ready-for-the-beach-after-latest-trophy-with-crystal-palace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/617620\/","title":{"rendered":"Northern Ireland: Justin Devenny not ready for the beach after latest trophy with Crystal Palace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Justin Devenny has just celebrated winning the Uefa Conference League with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/teams\/crystal-palace\" class=\"ssrcss-1fqyhkk-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Crystal Palace<\/a>, but he isn&#8217;t ready to hit the beach just yet. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It was a third honour in the space of 12 months for the Northern Ireland international.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">After helping the club lift the FA Cup in the previous season, he scored the winning penalty in the Community Shield against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/teams\/liverpool\" class=\"ssrcss-1fqyhkk-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Liverpool<\/a> in August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A first European trophy was remarkable as Oliver Glasner signed off his tenure on a high. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It was a great experience to win a major trophy,&#8221; said Devenny.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I thought the boys were great and thought we fully deserved it throughout the full competition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;The celebrations were great as well, I enjoyed it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">But instead of jetting off for his end-of-season holidays, Devenny is with Northern Ireland for two friendlies, with Guinea and World Cup-bound France.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">For the 22-year-old, &#8220;there wasn&#8217;t a question about me missing this&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;All I want to do is play football, especially when I&#8217;ve not been playing as much.
