Anthony Joshua has his focus on future fights against Kristian Prenga and Tyson Fury but he’s not yet done with Jake Paul.<\/p>\n
Joshua<\/a> broke Paul’s jaw in two places in the sixth round of their fight in December 2025, leaving the 29-year-old with two titanium plates fitted and fewer teeth than he started with.<\/p>\n Paul<\/a> dropped to a professional boxing record of 12-2 and has been on the sidelines ever since.<\/p>\n As the build-up to the Prenga fight in Riyadh kicked off in earnest this week, Joshua was asked by reporters what he makes of the prospect of Paul never fighting again.<\/p>\n “I think that’s what was asked of me when I took the fight and I think I delivered,” replied a smiling former world heavyweight champion<\/a>.<\/p>\n Anthony Joshua on Jake Paul possibly not fighting again!\ud83d\ude24<\/p>\n \u201cThat was asked of me when I took the fight and I think I delivered it!\u201d- Anthony Joshua pic.twitter.com\/hTk7ISvj3c<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Fight Hub TV (@FightHubTV) June 1, 2026<\/a> <\/p>\n Paul told Ariel Helwani last month<\/a> that he was to undergo scans on his injury but acknowledged the possibility that his days in the ring are done.<\/p>\n Nevertheless, he’s teasing a fight against Sergio ‘Canelo’ Alvarez with a significant purse up for grabs.<\/p>\n \u201cCanelo said he\u2019s down on the phone, so we\u2019re going to make it happen,” said the sidelined fighter. “I have the $200 million. I think that\u2019s going to be the next fight. Sign the contract, Canelo. Much respect to you.”<\/p>\n “Let\u2019s make the biggest fight in boxing happen,” he added.<\/p>\n Joshua, who might have a thing or two to say about that label, has also not appeared in the ring since December.<\/p>\n Shortly after the fight, the Brit was involved in a car crash in Nigeria that took the lives of two of his close friends and team members.<\/p>\n The 36-year-old was a passenger in the car when Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele were killed and is set to return to the ring against Prenga in Saudi Arabia on July 25.<\/p>\n Joshua prepares for Fury superfight<\/p>\n While Joshua sets his short-term sights on the Albanian, his blockbuster Battle of Britain bout against Fury<\/a> later in the year.<\/p>\n Fury returned from a 16-month lay-off with a unanimous points decision victory over Russia\u2019s Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April. Joshua was watching<\/a> on from ringside.<\/p>\n Fury’s promoter Frank Warren and Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn<\/a> confirmed last month that the deal has been done for the all-British fight to take place late in 2026.<\/p>\n The showpiece fight is expected to take place in November in a location yet to be confirmed<\/a>.<\/p>\n
