An ‘extremely dangerous’ snapper turtle was rescued after being spotted in the waters of a popular woodland. Penllergare Valley Woods in Swansea<\/a> had put out a statement detailing how the creature has been spotted in the area.<\/p>\n

It said its conservation team had been “working on a plan” to capture it safely, and that it was believed it to be in the area of the waterfall.<\/p>\n

A statement read: “Urgent warning. Please do not enter the water, and keep dogs out too. A snapping turtle has been seen in the water at Penllergare.<\/p>\n

“Our conservation team is working on a plan to capture it safely alongside expert advice, as it is keeping itself hidden to stay warm (we think it’s likely to be at the waterfall).<\/p>\n

“Snapping turtles can be extremely dangerous, with powerful jaws capable of causing serious injury.<\/p>\n

But in an update, it added: “The turtle has been rescued. After a bit of a ‘shell-shock’, he is recovering well after his brief stay with us. Thank you to everyone for your help and cooperation.”<\/p>\n
