The Thrissur district employment exchange has been elevated to model employment exchange status, becoming the second in the State to receive the designation. <\/p>\n
The announcement was made by General Education Minister V. Sivankutty at a function at the Kerala Sahitya Akademi\u2019s Changampuzha Hall on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The Minister also launched the State\u2019s first phase of smart card distribution for all registered jobseekers. The initiative replaces the traditional paper cards with durable smart cards that feature the holder\u2019s name, registration number, date of birth, and a QR code for instant access to their online profile.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis system will ensure accuracy, durability, and ease of use for jobseekers,\u201d the Minister said. <\/p>\n
He added that the Employment Director had been tasked with completing distribution within the set timeframe and that industry-specific training programmes would be rolled out through employment exchanges.<\/p>\n
As part of its model exchange makeover, the Thrissur office now offers self-service kiosks, paperless operations, modern drinking water facilities, display screens for information, a single-window registration and renewal system, and dedicated visitor computer stations.<\/p>\n
Employment Director Sufiyan Ahmed presided over the event, with district panchayat president V.S. Prince delivering the keynote address. <\/p>\n
