{"id":619051,"date":"2026-06-03T14:53:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T14:53:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/619051\/"},"modified":"2026-06-03T14:53:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T14:53:08","slug":"eddie-hearn-sees-only-one-winner-in-ryan-garcia-vs-conor-benn-at-welterweight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/619051\/","title":{"rendered":"Eddie Hearn sees only one winner in Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn at welterweight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/conor-benn\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Conor Benn<\/a> is expected to challenge WBC welterweight champion <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/ryan-garcia\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ryan Garcia<\/a> later this year, and ahead of the bout, his former promoter Eddie Hearn has shared his fight prediction.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Benn left Hearn and Matchroom Boxing on sour terms earlier this year, opting to sign with Dana White\u2019s Zuffa Boxing, ditching his career-long promoter, who had stood by his side despite adversity \u2013 and adverse findings \u2013 leading to a heated and public fallout.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Since then, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/boxing\/articles\/cn9qzz0l5d2o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Benn has successfully returned to action in a 150lb catchweight affair against Regis Prograis<\/a>, but he will fight at 147lbs for the first time in over four years when he bids for Garcia\u2019s title as a mandatory challenger.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DZFv6I8xBkG\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&amp;igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fight Hub TV<\/a>, Hearn questioned whether the event should take place stateside, before picking Ryan Garcia as a \u2018big favourite\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn terms of that fight, I think that it is a good fight. I don\u2019t think it\u2019s a big fight in America, I think it is a big fight in the UK, obviously Ryan is a big star in America, Conor is not. Ryan is a bigger star in the UK than Conor is in America and Conor is a big star in the UK.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think that it is a fight that is going to do massive numbers but I like the fight, I think that it is exciting.
