{"id":619502,"date":"2026-06-03T20:23:10","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T20:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/619502\/"},"modified":"2026-06-03T20:23:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T20:23:10","slug":"sumatran-tigers-at-thrigby-hall-wildlife-gardens-introduced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/619502\/","title":{"rendered":"Sumatran tigers at Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens introduced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens said the introductions of its two Sumatran tigers have gone smoothly.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The pair had arrived as part of a breeding programme for the endangered species.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>Male Sumatran tiger Raja (Image: Chris Godfrey Wildlife Photography)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  A spokeswoman for the sanctuary said: &#8220;We are delighted to share that our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edp24.co.uk\/news\/25339039.tiger-settling-new-home-thrigby-wildlife-gardens\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sumatran tigers,<\/a> Raja and Lotte, have now been successfully introduced to one another.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;This milestone is the result of a careful, gradual introduction process.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>Lotte the tiger arrived earlier this year (Image: Chris Godfrey Wildlife Photography)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;Our keepers have closely monitored every stage, allowing both tigers to become familiar with each other\u2019s scent, sounds and presence before progressing to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edp24.co.uk\/news\/25928411.thrigby-hall-wildlife-gardens-welcomes-lotte-tiger\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">direct contact.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;By taking a slow and steady approach, we have been able to ensure that both animals remained comfortable and confident throughout the process.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>The pair sitting happily together in their enclosure (Image: Thrigby Hall Wlidlife Gardens)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;We are thrilled with how Raja and Lotte have responded to one another and look forward to continuing to monitor their relationship as it develops.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Raja had arrived at Thrigby from Frankfurt in the summer last year, while Lotte was a more recent addition, arriving in March 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens said the introductions of its two Sumatran tigers have gone smoothly.
