Nine people have been taken to hospital after emergency services were called to a primary school in Nottinghamshire.

Police cars and ambulances descended on Jesse Gray Primary School in West Bridgford after receiving a call at around 2.17pm on Wednesday, June 3.

The nature of the incident is currently unclear, however a police spokesperson said it is not being treated as a crime.

Police and a local councillor initially reported two pupils had been taken to hospital, however East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) has now confirmed nine patients were transported to the Queen’s Medical Centre.

“The caller reported a medical emergency. We sent a number of resources including paramedics in ambulance cars, crewed ambulances and our hazardous area response team,” a spokesperson said.

“A responder from the air ambulance was also in attendance. Nine patients were transported to Queen’s Medical Centre.”

Councillor Jonathan Wheeler, who represents West Bridgford South at the county council, said he had been contacted by residents who were “concerned after spotting a large number of ambulances outside Jesse Gray School”.

“I have spoken with the school and they have a couple of pupils who have gone to hospital for precautionary checks, the parents are aware and I won’t say more for their privacy,” he said.

“Given the nature of messages sent and rumours out there the school are happy for me to post this update. Thank you.”

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said the incident is not believed to be criminal, adding officers were at the scene in a supportive capacity.

Police cars and ambulances descended on the West Bridgford primary school 18:44, 03 Jun 2026Updated 19:50, 03 Jun…

[3
100140,1398,59,57,58,50,15257,102306,56,54,55,18307
post-619530","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-united-kingdom","tag-east-midlands-ambulance-service","tag-education","tag-gb","tag-great-britain","tag-greatbritain","tag-news","tag-nottinghamshire","tag-nottinghamshire-police","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom","tag-west-bridgford
["GET
