Glaswegians are being urged to keep an eye out for peregrine falcon<\/a> chick Isa, as she may have flown her family’s City Chambers nest “prematurely”. The falcon chick hatched at the very end of April along with brother Winston, but it appears she has left the family at a slightly earlier age than usual.<\/p>\n

Peregrine falcons usually fledge around five or six weeks after hatching.<\/p>\n

The pair of adorable peregrine chicks were named by a public vote<\/a> by Glasgow City Council, and have been raised by parents Bonnie and Clyde on the roof of the city chambers for the past month.<\/p>\n

But a recent update from Glasgow Peregrine Project announced yesterday (June 2) that Isa may have fledged prematurely, and locals are being asked to call the council if they find her on the ground.<\/p>\n

If Isa is found on the ground, she will be returned to the Glasgow City Chambers nest box – where the birds are monitored by the council’s ‘Falcon Watch’ cameras – to allow her parents to continue feeding her.<\/p>\n

Glasgow Peregrine Project posted on Facebook: “Just to make you all aware. It seems Isa has fledged, possibly prematurely. She is being looked for.<\/p>\n

“However if you or anyone else should find her, Glasgow City Council has a 24hr phoneline (0141 418 1425) please call if you find her grounded.<\/p>\n

“Arrangements will then be made to return her to the nest box. If she\u2019s on the roof of the City Chambers or neighbouring buildings, she will continue to be fed by Bonnie and Clyde.”<\/p>\n
