\n There are dozens of film franchises that this applies to, including the archaeological exploits of Indiana Jones.\n<\/p>\n
\n However, watching it in a rather different way at Liverpool\u2019s iconic Philharmonic Hall felt like watching it for the first time.\n<\/p>\n
\n Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark: Live in Concert is currently midway through its UK tour over May and June.\n<\/p>\n
\n What makes this screening different from watching on TV at home, or even on the big screen in the cinema, is the addition of a live orchestra.\n<\/p>\n
\n Dozens of musicians on stage play out John Williams\u2019 Grammy Award-winning score to captivated audiences.\n<\/p>\n
\n Originally released in 1981 as a collaboration between George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark redefined the possibilities of adventure cinema.\n<\/p>\n
\n It also launched actor Harrison Ford to legendary status.\n<\/p>\n
\n For the few that may not have seen it, Indiana Jones is the classic hero in this adventure set in the 1930s, which follows the quick-witted and determined archaeologist as he hunts for the Lost Ark of the Covenant.\n<\/p>\n
\n Often facing insurmountable odds, Indy always manages to succeed in the nick of time, joined by endearing companions and opposed by notorious villains.\n<\/p>\n
\n The classic film has captured the spirits of movie-goers for generations, and it continues to inspire adventures yet to come.\n<\/p>\n
\n Having not experienced a live orchestra accompaniment to a film before, I didn\u2019t know what to expect.\n<\/p>\n
\n Would I be overstimulated, not knowing whether to watch master musicians plying their trade or the masterpiece film on the big screen?\n<\/p>\n
\n The answer was no, as the music and film go hand in hand.\n<\/p>\n
\n It was also great to see the musicians, some of whom will also be huge fans of the franchise, enjoying themselves and playing the iconic theme tune with beaming smiles.\n<\/p>\n
\n Most also had a keen eye on the film during parts of the film when they were not required to play their instruments, be they violins, cellos, harps, drums, or brass.\n<\/p>\n
\n We would definitely recommend seeing one of your favourite films in this way, and we will certainly look to go along to another again.\n<\/p>\n
\n Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark: Live in Concert came to Liverpool last night, Wednesday, having already stopped off at Manchester\u2019s Bridgewater Hall, Glasgow\u2019s Royal Concert Hall, and Edinburgh\u2019s Usher Hall.\n<\/p>\n
\n The tour continues tonight, Thursday, at Birmingham\u2019s Symphony Hall, before heading to Sheffield\u2019s City Hall tomorrow night, Friday, and ending at London\u2019s Eventim Apollo on Sunday.\n<\/p>\n
