{"id":622282,"date":"2026-06-05T08:15:24","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T08:15:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/622282\/"},"modified":"2026-06-05T08:15:24","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T08:15:24","slug":"wakefield-trinity-return-to-old-identity-as-stunning-one-off-magic-weekend-kit-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/622282\/","title":{"rendered":"Wakefield Trinity return to old identity as stunning one-off Magic Weekend kit revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img width=\"2400\" height=\"1600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/AW7_5823-1.jpg\" class=\"attachment- size- wp-post-image\" alt=\"Wakefield Trinity\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>For one game only, Wakefield Trinity will become the \u2018Wildcats\u2019 once again, after releasing their shit for next month\u2019s Magic Weekend event.<\/p>\n<p>Trinity dropped the Wildcats pseudonym ahead of the 2017 season, after it was originally introduced in the 1999 season \u2013 to mark their first year in Super League.<\/p>\n<p>However, ahead of this year\u2019s two-day event at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, they will return to that identity when they take on Castleford Tigers.<\/p>\n<p>As well as the temporary name change, Wakefield have also brought out a brand-new kit that will be worn in that game, and it is a kit that tributes the 2008 jersey.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring Red and Blue vertical stripes, the reception from Trinity fans, and Super League fans as well, suggests that Wakefield have released a hugely popular kit, with the timing of the release even more fitting.<\/p>\n<p>John Kear, who sadly passed away over the weekend, was boss of the club in that 2008 season.
