{"id":622694,"date":"2026-06-05T13:17:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T13:17:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/622694\/"},"modified":"2026-06-05T13:17:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T13:17:12","slug":"former-student-in-court-over-university-of-surrey-crossbow-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/622694\/","title":{"rendered":"Former student in court over University of Surrey crossbow attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A former student at the University of Surrey has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a member of staff who was shot with a crossbow on campus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Almunthir Daqamah, 21, has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon, two counts of possession of a bladed article and possession of Class B drugs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Police said a campus safety officer in his 50s had been shot with the weapon at Manor Park Student Village in Guildford on Thursday.
