Six Hull residents have received ‘substantial’ fly-tipping fines, according to Hull City Council. Residents are now being encourages to make the most of services in the city<\/a>, including the council\u2019s bulky item collection service and Household Waste Recycling Centres.<\/p>\n In six separate incidents, offenders<\/a> were caught dumping waste in Worthing Street, on two occasions, Tunis Street, on two occasions, Cave Street, and Sculcoates Lane. Councillor Charles Quinn, cabinet portfolio holder for environment at Hull City Council<\/a>, said: \u201cFly-tipping is a crime, and we do not tolerate it in Hull. It is unsightly, potentially harmful to human health and damaging to the environment.<\/p>\n \u201cThese fines could easily be avoided if they had disposed of their waste correctly. There are a number of services, schemes, and waste centres that we provide to ensure that residents can disposed of their waste correctly \u2013 so there\u2019s no excuse.\u201d<\/p>\n Services and schemes the council provide to dispose of waste include:For large items residents can use the bulky household collection scheme<\/a>.
