5<\/p>\n Scheffler was involved in a heated conversation with his caddie on ThursdayCredit: Getty<\/p>\n The outburst occurred on Muirfield Village Golf Club’s 16th hole, where Scheffler’s tee shot found the water left of the green.<\/p>\n The two-time Masters champion<\/a> believed he had made clean contact with the ball, and words followed.<\/p>\n Scheffler fumes at caddie after wayward tee-shot<\/p>\n The American’s ire over his wayward shot was directed at his caddie, Ted Scott, with the conversation centring around the wind.<\/p>\n “I never thought that I was in the water,” Scheffler said at the tee box with his hand covering his face.<\/p>\n READ MORE GOLF<\/p>\n “I don’t know what to do. I can’t hear a word that you’re saying, I feel like that was a good shot,” he continued, now making his way toward the drop zone.<\/p>\n “Now I\u2019m in the water. Because it came in out of the right. Absolutely flushed a 7-iron and we get the wind wrong, and I end up in the water. <\/p>\n “I don\u2019t think you understand how frustrating that is. I thought it was a good shot. It really was. \u2026 Golly.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t understand what I\u2019m meant to do. I don\u2019t understand. I really don\u2019t. <\/p>\n “I mean, it was five yards short of the green, flushed 7-iron, because it\u2019s into off the right. <\/p>\n “Like there\u2019s no way it could curve that much. \u2026 It\u2019s so frustrating. \u2026 I\u2019m hitting good shots and dropping. We cannot get the wind wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n 5<\/p>\n Scheffler was bemused as to how his tee shot found the water on the 16thCredit: ESPN 5<\/p>\n Scheffler was clearly frustrated with his caddie Tim ScottCredit: ESPN<\/p>\n From the drop zone, Scheffler chipped it to 10 feet and two putted for a double bogey.<\/p>\n The conversation with his caddie continued on the walk to the green, and briefly after sinking the putt.<\/p>\n After the 16th, Scheffler birdied 17.<\/p>\n On said birdie, he caught a break when his second shot, from the right fairway bunker, kicked to a favorable position just off the right side of the green, before chipping in.<\/p>\n He then parred 18, finishing his opening round with a one-over 73, six back off the lead, held by J. J.
