The Tigers lost out 24-14 to Adrian Lam\u2019s men<\/a>, who now go level on points with Wigan in sixth place.<\/p>\nCastleford started the game well, being 8-0 up after 20 minutes, but a dubious obstruction call on Jason Qareqare followed by a missed elbow to the face by Jack Hughes on Krystian Mapapalangi were just a few of the questionable refereeing calls in the first half.<\/p>\n
As a result, the field position gave Leigh a great opportunity to score, and their clinicalness allowed them to score 16 unanswered points before the break, giving them an eight-point lead at half-time.<\/p>\n
Asked to give an opinion on some of the contentious decisions, the boss said to Sky Sports: \u201cYou won\u2019t drag me into it. You know\u00a0what I think about it. I\u2019m not going to talk about it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll talk to you after privately about it, and we\u2019ll have our conversation in honesty because\u00a0then I won\u2019t get in trouble and I won\u2019t get fined.\u201d<\/p>\n
Whilst calls may or may not have gone their way, the fact of the matter is that the Tigers just couldn\u2019t respond to that adversity, and they allowed Leigh to storm down field off the back of penalties conceded and errors made.<\/p>\n
Carr knows his side needs to be better in that area, as ultimately that is what cost them in a tight-knit game like that.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust a couple of penalties and\u00a0then [we] legged them up out of the yardage, and then we just didn\u2019t defend our penalties well enough.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think that first try we [blew], we created man on man. We had enough. We just got to execute. These are\u00a0the moments I\u2019m talking about. We\u2019re going to execute those plays.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery play they got points\u00a0there, in the end. They executed that play better than we did. If we got our play right, we would\u00a0have probably made a line break off it.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, that\u2019s probably a learning for us. But effort was\u00a0certainly high, which I\u2019m pleased with.\u201d<\/p>\n
Carr is still just 13 league games into a three-year contract, and he knows that good things will come, they just have to be patient and give his side time to develop into a cohesive unit.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know where we\u2019re going, but it doesn\u2019t take away the disappointment of tonight,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think if we, like I said, got a few\u00a0moments, right, I think we\u2019re probably winning that game on that scoreline that they did. So, that was the difference tonight, unfortunately.\u201d<\/p>\n
