The next DC blockbuster, Supergirl<\/a>, is on track to have a decent opening weekend \u2013 though it will come in lower than its predecessor Superman<\/a>, if the predictions prove true.<\/p>\n

That’s according to figures from Deadline<\/a>, which reports Supergirl is tracking for a domestic opening weekend of $55 million and above. However, the publication notes that pre-sales aren’t fully accounted for in the tracking just yet.<\/p>\n

Superman, meanwhile, drew a $125 million domestic opening weekend ($220 million worldwide) and ended its run at $354.2 million domestic and $618.7 million globally.<\/p>\n

As for this year’s blockbusters, that puts Supergirl below The Mandalorian and Grogu<\/a>‘s $98.1 million domestic opening (this is the four day Memorial Weekend figure: the three day figure is $81.7 million). The Super Mario Galaxy Movie<\/a> holds the crown for biggest opening weekend of the year with $190 million domestically (five day) and $130 million domestically (opening weekend) for a global total of $372.5 million.<\/p>\n

Next is The Devil Wears Prada 2 ($76.7 domestic, $233.6 million global), then Michael ($97.2 million domestic, $218.8 million global), then The Mandalorian and Grogu ($98.1 domestic, $165 million global), China’s Pegasus 2 ($150 million in China, $160 million worldwide), then Project Hail Mary ($80.6 million domestic, $141 million worldwide).<\/p>\n

The film arrives this June 26, and it will be followed by Lanterns<\/a> this August 16.<\/p>\n
