\n The English Open – resurrected for this year – will take place from Thursday, June 18 to Sunday, June 21.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\n The Vale, on Hill Furze Road, is set to host the event this year.\n<\/p>\n

\n Ruud Hercik, general manager at the club, said: “We have been selected as the host venue for this year\u2019s English Open.\n<\/p>\n

\n “We competed with other clubs around the country and were awarded the venue in November or December.\n<\/p>\n

\n “It\u2019s the pinnacle of golf that we have had here and in the county.”\n<\/p>\n

\n Players including Matthew Southgate, Matthew Baldwin and Chris Wood are confirmed to compete for the \u00a3300,000 prize fund.\n<\/p>\n

\n The announcement comes during a period of major development for the club, with \u00a32 million invested over the past five years.\n<\/p>\n

\n Recent upgrades include a full bunker reconstruction using Durabunker technology, new tees, and plans to implement a new multi-purpose short game area.\n<\/p>\n

\n The works over the last five years have also included drainage works and a new irrigation system.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\n Mr Hercik said: “All 27 holes have benefitted from the bunkers. The quality of the bunkers has really elevated, the visual impact.\n<\/p>\n

\n “The course has been more accessible through the winter months.\n<\/p>\n

\n “Water management systems more efficient, with less work required on the upkeep.”\n<\/p>\n

\n Working in partnership in bringing the English Open back, England Golf and the DP World Tour have aspirations to see it feature on the DP World Tour schedule in 2028.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\n Guy Kinnings, chief executive of the DP World Tour, said: \u201cWe are delighted with today\u2019s announcement that, together with England Golf, we will be returning one of golf\u2019s most prestigious titles to the global stage. It is a title with great resonance, hence this is a significant moment for us.\n<\/p>\n
