Huddersfield Giants boss Jim Lenihan has assessed his side\u2019s poor showing in defeat to Toulouse Olympique this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Losing 30-16 at Dewsbury\u2019s FLAIR Stadium<\/a>, the stadium change would not bring the side any luck, with the French side completely dominating the Giants, in what was a concerning display.<\/p>\n

Joe Greenwood, George Flanagan Jr and Jacob Gagai crossed for the home side, but that would be far from enough, as they conceded six scores against the side sitting just one place above them in the table.<\/p>\n

Lenihan has stressed that his job is a long-term project, and change won\u2019t come instantly, however that doesn\u2019t make the result any less poor.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: \u201cWe were no doubt disappointing. I think change is certainly hard at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re beating ourselves, we don\u2019t even have to put the opposition under too much pressure, we help them a lot, so certainly some things to work on.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Giants were their own worst enemy, and with confidence levels on the floor, that is something the new boss is hoping to change as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe mindset, and everything that goes with that at the moment, we\u2019re trying to find different ways to do different things in the game,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe haven\u2019t got the discipline and mental mindset at the moment just to finish sets off, put them into a corner and give ourselves the best chance of defending.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re struggling with that, but that\u2019s the change that we\u2019re going to go through.<\/p>\n

Despite the result, Lenihan has insisted that nothing has changed in terms of the task that lies ahead. The new boss knows the level of the rebuild that needs to be undertaken, and it is something that won\u2019t be an easy fix.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve just got to keep working hard, there\u2019s no shortcut out of it. There\u2019s parts of the game where we\u2019re trying to catch them, and we did it in little bits today.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got to get those bits longer, and we\u2019ve got to make sure that we just keep competing\u00a0as hard as we can, as long as we can.\u201d<\/p>\n
