\u201cWell, obviously I have the utmost respect for the gentlemen that are up here beside me,\u201d Balor said. \u201cI wouldn\u2019t take it lightly stepping in the ring with some of the boxers, or the cage with the fighters.\u201d<\/p>\n
He continued by praising the dedication required to compete at the highest level in those sports.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re very disciplined guys. They know exactly what they\u2019re doing. I\u2019d rather stay exactly in my lane in WWE, thank you very much.\u201d<\/p>\n
Balor\u2019s comments leave little room for interpretation. While some wrestlers have explored opportunities in boxing or MMA, the 44-year-old appears content focusing on the profession that brought him worldwide success.<\/p>\n
The statement is notable given Balor\u2019s extensive accomplishments inside the squared circle. His resume includes winning New Japan Pro-Wrestling\u2019s Best of the Super Juniors tournament, capturing the NXT Championship, and becoming WWE\u2019s first-ever Universal Champion. He also holds a black belt in IBF submission wrestling, meaning he is no stranger to legitimate combat training.<\/p>\n
Still, Balor isn\u2019t looking to bring that wealth of experience into a professional fight. Instead, he\u2019s keeping his focus where it has been for years \u2014 inside the squared circle.<\/p>\n
