{"id":626043,"date":"2026-06-07T13:43:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-07T13:43:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/626043\/"},"modified":"2026-06-07T13:43:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-07T13:43:09","slug":"dillian-whyte-sums-up-moses-itaumas-chances-of-beating-tyson-fury-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/626043\/","title":{"rendered":"Dillian Whyte sums up Moses Itauma&#8217;s chances of beating Tyson Fury now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Having suffered stoppage defeats to both Moses Itauma and Tyson Fury, Dillian Whyte has weighed in on whether the young bull is ready to truly test himself.<\/p>\n<p>Itauma did come through a test of sorts against Jermaine Franklin, but proved far superior and scored a fifth-round finish when they collided in March.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to that, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skysports.com\/boxing\/news\/12183\/13413200\/moses-itauma-tears-through-dilian-whyte-for-first-round-finish-in-crossroads-heavyweight-clash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the unbeaten knockout artist comfortably stopped Whyte in the opening round<\/a>, barely getting out of first gear as he ruthlessly dismantled the heavyweight veteran.<\/p>\n<p>It would therefore appear that he is ready to compete at a higher level, perhaps against Filip Hrgovic, who has been mooted as the frontrunner for his outing in late August.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, names such as Fury have been mentioned as intriguing opponents for the 21-year-old, even if \u2018The Gypsy King\u2019 already has his hands full.<\/p>\n<p>The 37-year-old comes off a <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/tyson-fury-makhmudov-live-scorecard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">unanimous decision victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov<\/a> in April, returning to the win column after suffering back-to-back points defeats against Oleksandr Usyk in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Fury is now expected to enter another warm-up fight in August, possibly on the undercard of Pierce O\u2019Leary vs Mark Chamberlain, before taking on Anthony Joshua later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Based purely on his performance against Makhmudov, though, Whyte has told <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/SpwMuhOg964?si=tTU4iZe82Bxa6pyV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">IFL TV<\/a> that he would give Itauma a fair chance at beating him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s hard to say, because you can\u2019t really judge Tyson on his last fight. But if he [looks the same] against Joshua, you\u2019d think Moses would have a good chance at beating him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s slowed down, he didn\u2019t look the more powerful in the fight, but he still outboxed [Makhmudov].
