The summer heat is settling in, and so is a sizzling wave of new shows premiering this week on Netflix, Prime Video and more of the best streaming services<\/a>, as well as broadcast and cable TV. It\u2019s a lineup that feels equal parts steamy and stormy.<\/p>\n

This week brings Carley Fortune\u2019s romance “Every Year After,” which leans into sun-drenched yearning. “Sweet Magnolias” season 5 returns to Serenity with its signature mix of friendship and family drama. “The Listeners” hums with an eerie, slow-burn mystery, while “Grantchester” arrives at its final season with faith, crime-solving and loose ends all coming to a head.<\/p>\n

What begins as understandable outrage quickly spirals into a petty, escalating war, complete with cringe-worthy dinner parties, public humiliation and plenty of emotional collateral damage. A romantic break-up is a piece of cake compared to a platonic one.<\/p>\n

Percy Fraser (Sadie Soverall) returns to the lake town she left behind years ago, only to find herself face-to-face with Sam Florek (Matt Cornett), the first love she never quite got over. Moving between flashbacks of dreamy summers past and a much messier present day, the show asks: What if the one that got away was actually The One?<\/p>\n

The noise triggers migraines and insomnia and creates tension at home. Then, she discovers a student (Ollie West) can hear it too. Their shared obsession leads them to a community convinced the hum isn\u2019t a malfunction \u2014 it\u2019s a calling.<\/p>\n

Geordie (Robson Green) faces a promotion that could end his partnership with Alphy. Change is coming to Grantchester and<\/p>\n
