A 19-year-old woman has died after gunshots were heard at a house in north London<\/a>, police said.<\/p>\n

Paramedics called police to the home in Dale Grove, Finchley<\/a>, at 12.15am on Monday.<\/p>\n

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Her family has been informed of her death. <\/p>\n

A murder investigation<\/a> has been launched and a post-mortem examination is set to be carried out, the Metropolitan Police said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur thoughts are with the young woman\u2019s family at this incredibly difficult time as they begin to come to terms with their loss,\u201d Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand the concern this incident will cause within the community. While our inquiries are ongoing, residents can expect to see an increased police presence over the coming days, and I encourage anyone with concerns to speak with officers.<\/p>\n
