Beloved crime series Midsomer Murders is heading to York \u2013 with a returning TV star.<\/p>\n
The world premiere of Guy Unsworth\u2019s stage adaptation of Midsomer Murders: The Killings at Badger\u2019s Drift\u00a0broke box office records when it had its world premiere tour last year. <\/p>\n
Now, it\u2019s heading back on tour next year and coming to the Grand Opera House York from Wednesday 30 June to Saturday 3 July 2027.<\/p>\n
The show is based on the book by Caroline Graham,\u00a0The Killings at Badger\u2019s Drift, and the ITV series\u00a0Midsomer Murders.<\/p>\n
It has been revealed that TV star Daniel Casey will be returning to the role of Inspector Tom Barnaby, who is best known for playing DS Gavin Troy, the original sidekick of DCI Tom Barnaby in the television series.<\/p>\n
Further casting is to be announced.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Daniel Casey said of the new tour, \u201cSince returning to the world of Midsomer last October, it has been such a delight to see the incredible reaction of people around the UK and Ireland to our theatre version of The Killings at Badger\u2019s Drift and, most importantly for me, getting my dear friend John Nettles\u2019 seal of approval after he saw it in Truro. <\/p>\n
