Photograph: Jill Mead\/The Guardian<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Footage posted on social media showed huge plumes of thick smoke rising high above the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The fire also affected train travel, with passengers travelling between Charing Cross and London Bridge being told to check services before travelling, and to consider travelling later if possible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Southeastern Railway said Hastings line services were starting and terminating at Tonbridge in Kent.<\/p>\n<p>People near the Southwark recycling centre watch the firefighting.
