When you do have this ridiculous run out don\u2019t be vacating \ud83e\udd86 https:\/\/t.co\/GKfzesNJpm<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Jack Catterall (@jack_catt93) June 8, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n The comments come after the WBA ordered Romero and Catterall to begin negotiations for a fight within 180 days.<\/p>\n Romero has not defended the WBA welterweight title since defeating Ryan more than a year ago, a reign now exceeding 12 months.<\/p>\n Former mandatory challenger Shakhram Giyasov eventually moved on after waiting for his title opportunity and instead faced Catterall on the May 23 \u201cGlory in Giza\u201d card held at the pyramids in Egypt.<\/p>\n Catterall defeated Giyasov by unanimous decision over 12 rounds at the Pyramids of Giza to capture the WBA\u2019s secondary welterweight title and improve his position in the sanctioning body\u2019s rankings.<\/p>\n Following that victory, the WBA ordered Rolly and Catterall to negotiate a bout, potentially setting up a title consolidation fight at welterweight.<\/p>\n Catterall appears frustrated by reports suggesting Rolly could take a voluntary defense before facing him.
