Madonna<\/a>\u00a0has released her star-studded short film accompaniment to her upcoming album \u2018Confessions II\u2019 \u2013\u00a0watch\u00a0below.<\/p>\n

The pop megastar is gearing up\u00a0to release her 15th\u00a0studio record on July 3<\/a>, the spiritual follow-up to 2005\u2019s \u2018Confessions\u00a0On\u00a0A\u00a0Dance Floor\u2019, and you can pre-order\/pre-save your copy\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Confessions II \u2013 The Film\u00a0received its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival in New York on Friday (June 5) and was released globally on YouTube earlier today (June 8). The 14-minute video sees her alongside the likes of\u00a0Sabrina Carpenter<\/a>, with whom she has released the single \u2018I Feel So Fine<\/a>\u2019,\u00a0Benedict Cumberbatch<\/a>\u00a0and Kate Moss.<\/p>\n

Also popping up in the film are Julia Garner,\u00a0Shygirl<\/a>,\u00a0Arca<\/a>, Gwendoline Christie,\u00a0Richard E. Grant,\u00a0Honey Dijon<\/a>, Odessa\u00a0A\u2019zion, Madonna\u2019s daughter Lourdes Leon and Chelsea players Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.<\/p>\n

It is set to six songs from the album: \u2018I Feel So Free<\/a>\u2019, \u2018Good For The Soul\u2019, \u2018One Step Away\u2019, \u2018Bring Your Love\u2019, \u2018Danceteria\u2019 and \u2018Read My Lips\u2019, with Feid<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It opens with Madonna backstage at a venue with a team of female robots on her\u00a0trail, before\u00a0she moves into a forest and dances with lasers emanating from between her legs.\u00a0She then\u00a0crashes while\u00a0driving\u00a0to a rave at a nightclub, before an impromptu dance party breaks out in the bathroom with all of the above stars.<\/p>\n

Madonna surprised fans in New York City on Thursday night<\/a>\u00a0(June 4), playing an impromptu set at Times Square where she gave a live debut to the new song \u2018Love Sensation\u2019,\u00a0which she later released to streaming\u00a0services<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018Confessions II\u2019 will be Madonna\u2019s first record since her 14th album \u2018Madame X<\/a>\u2019, which arrived in 2019, and it sees her reuniting with \u2018Confessions\u2019 producer\u00a0Stuart Price<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Stuart Price and I first started working on this record, this was our manifesto: We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies,\u201d Madonna explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo rave is an art.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0about pushing your limits and connecting to a community of like-minded people,\u201d she added. \u201cSound, light, and vibration reshape our\u00a0perceptions, pulling us into a trance-like state. The repetition of the bass, we\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0just hear\u00a0it\u00a0but we feel it. Altering our consciousness and dissolving ego and time.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the run up to the album release date,\u00a0Kylie Minogue has responded to rumours of a Madonna collaboration on \u2018Confessions II\u2019<\/a>, and\u00a0Linda Perry<\/a>\u00a0has\u00a0expressed her desire to produce for Madonna<\/a>, describing her latest music as \u201cweak\u201d and \u201ctrying to compete with\u00a0Charli XCX<\/a>\u201c.<\/p>\n
