Guess who\u2019s back! Big bad Kev Townsend <\/a>(Chris Coghill) makes his much-anticipated return to Emmerdale, which has life-or death consequences for his long-lost son, Lewis Barton<\/a> (Bradley Riches<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Diehard Dales fans fell in love with Kev from the start, which is not an easy feat for a character whose sole purpose was to come between beloved Emmerdale couple Robert Sugden<\/a>\u00a0(Ryan Hawley<\/a>) and Aaron Dingle<\/a>\u00a0(Danny Miller<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n

The man-bunned menace was first introduced to us last year<\/a> in the most shocking way possible \u2013 as Robert\u2019s\u00a0prison husband! Kev made it his mission to win back his cellmate with benefits by any means necessary, including pretending to be seriously ill and holding Aaron and\u00a0Liam Cavanagh<\/a>\u00a0(Jonny McPherson<\/a>)\u00a0hostage with a sword<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kev is one of the most complex and enjoyable characters to join the Dales. The man is clearly a raging psychopath, but beneath all the anger and glowering, there\u2019s a vulnerable, scared raging psychopath, desperate for care and affection. <\/p>\n

Kev genuinely loved Robert, and when it became clear that the object of his affections was always going to choose Aaron, he left the Dales with a broken heart.<\/p>\n

However, just before Christmas last year, the delightfully unhinged bad boy made a shock return to the village after being \u00a0captured by Robert\u2019s serial killing brother John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth),\u00a0<\/a>who planned to be with Aaron, kill Robert and pin the murder on Kev.<\/a><\/p>\n

Fortunately, Kev managed to escape and tip off Aaron to the danger<\/a> in time, before doing a runner from the Dales once more.<\/p>\n

Fans of Emmerdale\u2019s answer to Begbie from Trainspotting needn\u2019t despair, as Kev is about to rock up to the village once more to open up his frankly outstandingly named cafe \u2013 A Slice of Kev-en.<\/p>\n

But Kev\u2019s got another reason to stick around in Emmerdale \u2013 his long lost secret son, Lewis Barton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve already seen Kev have innocent chats with Liam in the Cafe, during which he revealed thathe had a one night stand with someone, who then put the baby up for adoption\u2026 and the mother\u2019s name was Emma.<\/p>\n

Only Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler<\/a>)knows the truth, and previously gave Kev an ultimatum \u2013 either tell Lewis the truth or leave forever. Believing Lewis was safer without having an unstable armed robber for a dad, Kev made the choice to leave instead.<\/p>\n

However, it\u2019s clear he\u2019s changed his mind, as Lewis\u2019 actor Bradley Riches has already teased his character\u2019s \u2018scary\u2019 reunion with the father he never knew<\/a>. Now that scary reunion is finally upon us, in upcoming episodes of Emmerdale.<\/p>\n

When Vinny Dingle<\/a>\u00a0(Bradley Johnson)\u00a0surprises\u00a0him with a spontaneous trip to Madeira<\/a>, Lewis\u2019s anxiety<\/a> with the spontaneity\u00a0of\u00a0the trip soon take hold and causes him to decide not to go.\u00a0But Lewis insists that Vinny still goes on the holiday, leaving\u00a0Lewis\u00a0feeling bittersweet.<\/p>\n

After some encouraging words from his brother Ross Barton (Michael Parr),\u00a0Lewis\u00a0decides he will go on the holiday after all and rushes to catch Vinny up at the airport.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0Lewis\u00a0rushes out with his suitcase to meet his taxi, a van screeches to a halt nearby\u2026<\/p>\n

No prizes for guessing who the driver is.<\/p>\n

Why do I have a feeling that Kev\u2019s father-son reunion is going to end very badly for Lewis?<\/p>\n
