The latest version of Cupertino&#8217;s desktop operating system will only support devices with the M and A-series chips. Apple is also bringing \u201cType to Siri,\u201d which allows you to enter prompts directly into Spotlight search, which has a new interface.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-image\" width=\"1200\" height=\"647\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781066447_124_gsmarena_003.jpg\" alt=\"macOS 27 Golden Gate arrives with Siri AI and Liquid Glass dial\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The new Siri app will be available on Macs with M1 chip (and newer) as well as the MacBook Neo (A18 Pro). However, the more powerful on-device Apple Intelligence features and customization options will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/apples_most_advanced_ondevice_ai_features_will_only_work_on_select_devices-news-73187.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">only work<\/a> on Macs with the M3 chip (or newer) with at least 12GB of unified memory.<\/p>\n<p>There are several other additions that are worth mentioning. Apple claims Golden Gate features system-level improvements. These include quicker AirDrop transfers, faster file browsing and speedier loading in Safari.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-image\" width=\"1200\" height=\"647\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781066449_290_gsmarena_006.jpg\" alt=\"macOS 27 Golden Gate arrives with Siri AI and Liquid Glass dial\"\/><\/p>\n<p>On the visual side, Apple\u2019s Liquid Glass design is scaled down, ensuring readability across the OS as well as uniformity to aspects like toolbars and menu items.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a slider option that lets you control the effect\u2019s opacity across the entire UI.
