The first trailer for Aaron Sorkin\u2019s eagerly anticipated follow-up to The Social Network has landed.<\/p>\n
The Social Reckoning has been described as a film that isn\u2019t a \u201cstraight sequel\u201d but one that will still revisit Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n The drama is based on the Wall Street Journal series The Facebook Files<\/a> which examined the damage caused by the social networking site and how internal findings had been buried.<\/p>\n Zuckerberg will be played by the Succession star Jeremy Strong who was also Oscar-nominated for his performance in The Apprentice. \u201cIt\u2019s one of the great scripts I\u2019ve ever read,\u201d Strong said last year<\/a>. \u201cIt speaks to our time, it touches the third rail of everything happening in our world.\u201d<\/p>\n In the trailer, his character prepares to give congressional testimony after whistleblower Frances Haugen disclosed confidential documents to journalist Jeff Horwitz. \u201cI\u2019m not two years out of a dorm room any more,\u201d he says, while also describing himself as a \u201cfree speech absolutist\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The character was previously played by Jesse Eisenberg who received an Oscar nomination for his performance. When Strong was asked if he had spoken to Eisenberg, he said it \u201chas nothing to do with what I\u2019m going to do\u201d.<\/p>\n
