Countless investors worldwide are eagerly awaiting their chance to bet on SpaceX\u2019s future success through the company\u2019s targeted $75 billion IPO, slated to be the largest, and perhaps most talked-about in history.<\/p>\n
But before the 555,555,555 shares (1) in Elon Musk\u2019s space exploration baby hits the public market on June 12 (2), thousands of people will already be laughing with the knowledge that the value of their existing stake is about to be pushed into the stratosphere.<\/p>\n

This includes everyone from Rapper 2 Chainz and former Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos (3) to an unknown number of current and former SpaceX employees (4) \u2014 including 27-year-old mariner Maryellyn Musselman, who was tasked with cleaning up floating rocket junk from the company\u2019s many launches.<\/p>\n
Insiders who leaned in are now set to cash in <\/p>\n
During her tenure at the firm, Musselman took advantage of the option to convert a portion of her paycheck (in her case, 10%) into SpaceX equity, which she held onto rather than re-selling via secondary insider sales (4).<\/p>\n
She remains tight-lipped about what her stake, which also includes shares she received as part of her compensation, amounted to after two years with the company \u2014 or, what it might be worth come Friday.<\/p>\n
She did confirm with The Wall Street Journal (4), however, that she hasn\u2019t yet decided how quickly after the IPO she will release her holdings, the money from which she intends to use to open her own business, like others interviewed by the outlet earlier in June.<\/p>\n

Others expect that, given the company\u2019s speculative and arguably overvalued (6) nature, some early public investors could be in for \u201can expensive lesson\u201d (7) down the line.<\/p>\n As one Reddit user (8) aptly wrote in a recent discussion about the IPO, \u201cNo one knows; SpaceX could rocket just from hype alone or its financial reality might hit it on day one.\u201d<\/p>\n The IPO filing itself contained some revelatory financials, including for SpaceX\u2019s AI arm, xAI, which reported operating losses of $6.4 billion last year. It only brought in $3.2 billion (9) in revenue \u2014 pretty standard for AI (10), though still cause for concern for those who worry about the sector\u2019s potential future profitability and questionable returns (11) on billions in capital expenditures<\/a>.<\/p>\n Among the aforementioned early investors are some of the big banks\u2019 and funds\u2019 most esteemed (read: wealthy) clients, who are already at the front of the line for shares. A whopping $500 million in fees (12) is anticipated to be on the table as a result of the transactions.<\/p>\n Shareholding staffers include baristas, technicians <\/p>\n As noted by the WSJ, (4) and exemplified by Musselman, it\u2019s not just desk workers who received SpaceX stock awards over the years, but also other salaried staff, ranging from baristas to welders. But, it will be the executives, such as SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell and Board Member Antonio Gracias, who stand to gain the most, with billions in estimated share valuations (13).<\/p>\n One analyst who appeared on CNBC\u2019s Squawk Box last week called the IPO (13) \u201cone of the biggest liquidity events ever,\u201d not only elevating Musk to the status of the world\u2019s first trillionaire (14), but creating \u201cseveral new billionaires and countless millionaires\u201d as well.
